Education and Training
Dr. Ishee’s career in medicine began at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences in 2014. Driven by a passion for surgery, he pursued his medical degree at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center-Shreveport (LSUHSC-S), where he excelled academically and earned scholarship awards each year for outstanding performance.
Dr. Ishee continued his training with a General Surgery residency at LSUHSC-S from 2018 to 2023. During this time, he gained extensive experience, participating in and performing thousands of surgeries across various specialties, including General Surgery, Burns, Breast Surgery, Surgical Oncology, Trauma, Acute Care, Hepatobiliary, Endocrine, Cardiothoracic, Vascular, Pediatrics, and Plastics. His expertise extends to endoscopic and laparoscopic surgeries, and he is certified on the Da Vinci Robotic Surgical System.
In 2024, Dr. Ishee completed a successful American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS) certified Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship under the direction of Dr. J. Kevin Duplechain, after which Dr. Duplechain invited Dr. Ishee to join his private Cosmetic Surgery practice in Lafayette, LA, as an Associate Physician.
Leadership and Recognition
Throughout his training, Dr. Ishee distinguished himself as a skilled surgeon and trusted leader. He was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, being recognized for his compassionate patient care as a role model, mentor, and leader in medicine. His teaching abilities were acknowledged with a Superior Teaching Award, highlighting his approachability and enthusiasm for sharing his knowledge with others.
Dr. Ishee held several leadership positions during training, including serving as Administrative Chief Resident and participating in the Utilization Review Committee and the General Surgery Residency Program Evaluation Committee which shaped the future of his hospital and residency program. His leadership and dedication to quality patient care have earned him great respect among his peers and mentors alike.
Professional Affiliations and Certifications
Dr. Ishee is board-certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery. After completing an American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery-Accredited Fellowship in General Cosmetic Surgery with Dr. J. Kevin Duplechain, Dr. Ishee became a Diplomate of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery.
